The iron complex 1 shows novel, magnetic properties. Its spin ground state is S = 5, even though all six iron centers are high-spin FeIII ions. Magnetic measurements revealed an increase in μeff ith decreasing temperature. Complex 1 was also characterized by X-ray structure analysis.
