16-Channel Coherent Broadcast Network at 155 Mb/s

Abstract

Recently, there has been considerable interest to explore the practical feasibility of multichannel coherent lightwave systems for future use in evolving single-mode fiber subscriber networks. The present experiment aims at examining the suitability of using current and near-future technology in such networks, which very likely will utilize the SONET hierarchy and a double-star topology.
