A method is described to extract and separate milligram quantities of pure DNA and transfer RNA from the same lot of Jerusalem artichoke tissue. They have been characterized by various criteria including polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis, amino-acid acceptor activity, and CsCl density gradient centrifugation.
