Abstract

Abstract This article is an exploratory analysis of the rhetorical dimensions of music. The first level of analysis deals with those elements inherent in the musical situation which function as rhetorical variables. The second level deals with the development of a series of models which account for the interaction of these variables and the resultant impact on the listener.
