A liquid scintillation counting technique has been applied to the determination of the half-life of ${\mathrm{Sm}}^{147}$ by specific alpha activity measurement. A value of (1.05\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.02)\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}${10}^{11}$ years is obtained.
