Abstract

The various -ketocarbonyl compounds rapidly form enaminone derivatives with a variety of amines at room temperature in the presence of a catalytic amount of lanthanum trichloride heptahydrate. The reaction proceeds smoothly at room temperature in methylene dichloride solvent.
