Abstract

Psychometric measurements with an 80-Hz pulse series signal showed that the lag of sound localization due to interaural intensity-differences is significantly smaller than the due to interaural time-difference.These results seem to be contradictory to the hypothesis that the ear converts intensity-differences into time-differences before perceiving the direction of the sound sensation.
