PED therapy may have an acceptable safety-efficacy profile. The risk of complications appears to decrease dramatically with physician experience, supporting the existence of a learning curve. Patients with previously treated aneurysms have higher complication rates, whereas fusiform aneurysms achieve lower obliteration rates.
