Abstract

Total fasciectomy often leads to prolonged disability because of the necessary postoperative immobilization of joints. Excision of diseased fascia alone does not require immobilization and disability exists only until the wound has healed. Development of disease in unresected fascia occurs occasionally but is easily dealt with when it appears.
