Effect of <i>Lolium</i> endophyte fungus infections on survival of larval Argentine stem weevil

Abstract

Abstract Survival of Argentine stem weevil from eggs to fourth instar larvae was compared in endophyte‐infected and endophyte‐free ryegrass in the screenhouse. Survival was significantly poorer in endophyte‐infected plants. The results are discussed in relation to larval survival and damage in the field.
