Large-scale quantum well domain structures

Abstract

New structures, based on asymmetric quantum wells, large-scale quantum well domains (LSQWDs) are proposed. Different implementations of LSQWDs are evaluated. The importance of LSQWDs specific property of orderly reversal of second-order nonlinear optical susceptibility for applications in integrated optics is shown. Examples of LSQWD-based devices are given.
