This paper presents hardware based performance analysis results of a multi-function grid connected single-phase PV (Photovoltaic) power generation system including active filter function. The theory of Park transformation, which transforms the three-phase system to the vectors in the rotary dq coordinate axis, has been applied to the control strategy of a grid-connected single-phase PV power generation system to implement the active filter function. By using the phase shift, the ordinary single-phase system can be transformed into a virtual three-phase system. Application of this algorithm makes it possible to use the dq theory for the single-phase PV power generation system. The effectiveness of the proposed system is demonstrated through the hardware based implementation of a multi-function single-phase PV-AF system and the results are discussed in detail.
