Abstract

Polybenzimidazole membranes have been covalently cross-linked after casting. The membranes exhibit much-improved chemical stability and mechanical strength. This allows the membrane to be doped at higher acid levels and therefore possess higher proton conductivity and potentially increased durability in fuel cells.
