Employing a highly specific estradiol antiserum, an assay for the hormone was developed and validated which does not require a chromatographic step. The mean male E2 value was 20.5 pg/ml and for post-menopausal women, 10.5 pg/ml. Values for the normal human menstrual cycle centered at the estradiol peak are given.
