Magnetic Resonance Urographic Parameters for Predicting the Need for Pyeloplasty in Infants With Prenatally Diagnosed Severe Hydronephrosis

Pyeloplasty is likely to be required if the pelvic index ratio is greater than 0.3 and conservative management is likely to succeed if the ratio is less than 0.1. The pelvic index ratio can be calculated easily even in the neonatal period. It appears to be prognostic for pyeloplasty in cases of prenatally diagnosed, severe hydronephrosis.
