Abstract A series of glass samples was prepared from mixtures of GeO2 TiO2, and Na2Co, (for Na2O). Measurements were made of the DC conductivity as a function of composition and temperature. TheBe results are interpreted in terms of the activation energy which decreased linearly with the TiO2, content of the glasses. Capacitance measurements showed that one effect of increasing the TiO2, content was to increase the permittivity. Some measurements at high electric fields were made and the evidence for small polarons is reported.
