Crystal structure analysis of weddellite, CaC2O4.(2+x)H2O

Abstract

Weddellite (calcium oxalate polyhydrate) crystallizes in space group I4/m, with the unit-cell dimensions, a= 12.30, =7-34 A; Z=8. The water content is 2+x (x_<0.5), the fractional portion being zeolitic.
