Abstract

Haemorrhoidectomy is currently the most effective treatment for prolapsing haemorrhoids. There is little evidence to support the use of one surgical technique over another. With attention to detail and adjuncts to reduce post-operative pain, haemorrhoidectomy may be performed as day surgery.
