Following the administration of testosterone-1,2-3H with high specific activity to adult rats castrated one day previously, the labeled compounds were localized by autoradiography in the ventral prostate. A distinct labeling of the epithelial cells was demonstrated, with labeling of both the cytoplasm and the nuclei, although the radioactivity appeared to be predominantly associated with the nuclei. The stromal tissue contained less radioactive material than the epithelium, and there were very few silver grains overlying the glandular lumina. (Endocrinology85: 350, 1969)
