Abstract

Aerosol photoemission has been applied to monitor and control combustion in an oil stove. It is shown that the signal of the aerosol photoemission sensor is closely correlated to carbon monoxide and polyaromatic hydrocarbon concentrations. The influence of temperature, soot concentration, and dilution on the aerosol photoemission measurement is discussed. The proper operation of the sensor is demonstrated by its use for combustion control over an extended period of time.
