Abstract

• Toxic shock syndrome (TSS) is a newly recognized disease with serious morbidity and mortality that occurs primarily in healthy, menstruating women who use tampons. Cases have also occurred in men who have focal staphylococcal infections. We saw a patient who had staphylococcal pyoderma and TSS complicating a full-face chemical peel in a transsexual male.
