Providing automated support for the GQM measurement process

Abstract

Automating support for the Goals-Questions-Metrics (GQM) process can cut data collection costs by exploiting the data available in configuration management systems as well as the data supplied by code analysers. The author introduces a tool that is designed for this purpose and reviews its development and applications in industry.
