A Decision Support System for Assigning Classes to Rooms

Abstract

A large 0-1 integer program is approximately solved by a very fast heuristic as part of a decision support system for assigning classes to rooms at the University of California at Berkeley. The system has been implemented and has been in regular use since the fall of 1983.
