Facilities, equipment, and techniques that have been developed by the US Steel Corporation to study the effects of fluorides on plants are described. Considerable care has been exercised to maintain conditions in the environmental chambers comparable to those in the field outside. The design of greenhouses and portable environmental chambers is described, as are measuring techniques used to determine air flow, and methods for introducing carefully controlled levels of pollutants. 15 references, 6 figures, 1 table.
