Crystal polymorphism is important because of the different physical and mechanical properties of the polymorphs. Based on a stereochemical approach to controlling crystal polymorphism using stereospecific nucleation inhibitors, auxiliaries have been designed for the precipitation of the yform of glycine (see Figure) from aqueous solutions.
