Abstract A solvent extraction method was used to extract dopamine, noradrenaline, adrenaline and 5-hydroxytryptamine from single rat brains. Spectrophotofluorimetric estimations of dopamine, noradrenaline, adrenaline and 5-hydroxytryptamine were completed 5½ hr after beginning the extraction procedure. The method was applied to the routine estimation of brain amines.
