Abstract

Two interesting BL Lacertae objects have been found during the preliminary phases of a discovery program based on polarization rather than spectroscopic survey techniques. Data for the two sources, OI 090.4 and OJ-131, are presented in order to stimulate further observation of their unusual behavior. They are notable in that OI 090.4 is among the brightest of the known QSOs (13-14 mag) and exhibits highly variable optical polarization (up to 26%); the object OJ-131 is also highly polarized (up to 35%) and shows substantial variation in both brightness and polarization.
