Abstract

Abstract An efficient method for photooxidative amidation of aldehydes with secondary amines has been developed. With the use of a readily available photocatalyst rose bengal, tertiary amides (with examples of oligosaccharides and endoperoxide artemisinin) were obtained in good yields with high chemoselectivity and functional‐group compatibility under mild reaction conditions.
