Hydrocortisone-induced inhibition of reactive oxygen species by polymorphonuclear neutrophils

Abstract

There is a marked, consistent, inhibition of ROS generation by PMNLs, which parallels that of MNCs after intravenous hydrocortisone. The pharmacodynamics of this effect are consistent with our current clinical practices.
