In recent works, the authors have tried to explain both the S- and P-wave data on mesons on the basis of a potential model consisting of a scalar dominant confining potential (linear, harmonic or power-law), a colour-Coulomb interaction and spin-dependent terms with zero anomalous magnetic moment. In the present work, they have attempted to answer some important questions as regards the Lorentz structure and the spin-orbit interactions on the basis of a unified description of S- and P-wave data for values of anomalous magnetic moment which can take nonzero values as well.
