Use of Low Molecular Weight Heparin in Preventing Thromboembolism in Trauma Patients

Abstract

The administration of LMWH is a safe and extremely effective method of preventing DVT in high-risk trauma patients. When heparin is contraindicated, aggressive attempts at mechanical compression are warranted.
