Abstract

In three patients with prosthetic valve infections chemotherapy was not successful and valve replacement was required. One patient died suddenly six weeks after valve replacement without preceding fever or congestive heart failure. The other two patients are alive and free of evidence of infection after 26 months and 11 months, respectively.
