β-D-Arabinosylcytosine was found to inhibit the utilization of thymidine for DNA synthesis in the Ehrlich ascites tumor. The DNA polymerase of the Ehrlich tumor was inhibited by β-D-arabinosylcytosine (or metabolite) and this inhibition could be reversed by deoxycytidine-5′-triphosphate.
