Diquat Intoxication: Treatment by Charcoal Haemoperfusion and Description of a New Method of Diquat Measurement in Plasma

Abstract

A 24-year old man was exposed to a diquat aerosol and developed systemic symptoms and mild non-oliguric renal failure. A method of measurement of diquat was later developed and serial diquat levels during and after haemoperfusion showed that the technique was relatively ineffective in removing diquat.
