Surface states on single crystals of cadmium sulphide

Abstract

Investigations have been carried out on the effects of various ambient gases on the surfaces of single crystals of cadmium sulphide, using photoconductive techniques. The temperature dependence of these effects indicates the presence of two sets of surface states, one set lying near the Fermi level and a deeper lying set due to adsorbed oxygen.
