Abstract

The paper discusses the evolution of context-aware systems and their assimilation within the mobile multimedia communication framework. A context management architecture based on the broker-consumer-producer model is proposed in the paper. The aim of the broker-based architecture is to decouple context from application and to facilitate reusability and support for diverse applications. The generic service logic is maintained as service enablers and interfaces with the context broker. Following the Web 2.0 trend coupled with the increasing interest in webbased social communities, group recognition and management and personalized content selection aspects are also discussed.
