The Chlorobium chlorophylls (660) consist of six different pigments, all of which are derivatives of δ-alkyl-2-desvinyl-2-α-hydroxyethylpyropheophorbide.α The six compounds differ in their substituents at C 4 (isobutyl, n-propyl, ethyl), C 5 (ethyl, methyl), and C δ (ethyl, methyl).
