ABSTRACT The present study relates to the production of polymorphic gold nanoparticles from biological sources such as Citrus limon, Murraya koenigii Linn leaves, and Canna indica (red), Quisqualis indica pink flowers. Reaction of biomass extract with Au+3solution under ambient conditions yielded polymorphic, stable gold nanoparticles in the range of 30–130 nm in nonagglomerated form, through a rapid process. These gold nanoparticles were characterized by UV-Visible spectroscopy, FESEM, TEM, EDAX, and AFM techniques. FT-IR authenticated the role of phytochemicals in this synthesis and reduction of Au3+to Au0.
