Abstract This article is a report of the results of a survey regarding attitudes toward, perceptions of, and experiences with an Institutional Review Board (IRB). Faculty and graduate students in several academic departments at the University of North Dakota were respondents. A summary of recommendations that emerged from this project is presented with the hope that this information will be useful to IRBs and those who deal with them.
