Abstract

The effect of Zr, Cr, Mn, Sc transition elements on microstructure evolution and properties of high-strength aluminum alloy sheets are reviewed. The grain size and morphology, degree of recrystallization, aging precipitation, fracture surfaces were examined using TEM, SEM, optical microscopy, X-ray diffraction. Maximum hardening, good EXCO resistance, SP effect of sheets were received by Zr- and Sc-alloying and optimisation of composition and processing.
