Electron micrographs reveal perinuclear, paired centrioles in vegetative hyphae, sporangiophores, and developing sporangia of Albugo candida infecting radish. Centrioles elongate to form basal bodies which give rise to flagella as zoospores differentiate. The organization of flagella, basal bodies and accessory structures in this Phycomycete is strikingly similar to that in protozoa.
