Abstract A re‐determination of the energy barrier for the internal rotation of N, N‐dimethylformamide has been carried out by proton magnetic resonance under refined experimental conditions. Consistent data have been obtained for ΔE, ΔG≠, and v 0 from different experiments utilizing 60 Mc/s and 100 Mc/s spectrometers including homonuclear double resonance and the use of deuterium substitution. The results are compared with the range of values previously reported in the literature.
