Abstract

Wind intensifies the injurious effect of ultraviolet radiation exposure. This phenomenon has been demonstrated in mice subjected to acute ultraviolet radiation injury and kept in wind tunnels providing continuous air flow. Mice receiving ultraviolet radiation with wind exposure had greater damage than mice receiving ultraviolet radiation without wind exposure. Mice exposed to wind alone had no detectable skin changes.
