Mitral valve surgery and maternal and fetal outcome in valvular heart disease

Abstract

Mitral valve surgery before or during pregnancy did not significantly improve maternal and fetal outcomes but decreased adverse events such as congestive heart failure and cardiac arrhythmias. It should be therefore performed only in selected cases.
