On a new formula for the gas amplification in a proportional counter

Abstract

The new formula for gas amplification in proportional counters, previously proposed and verified for CO2 by the author, is verified by the measurements taken by Williams and Sara. On the basis of this verification, and other measurements, it seems that this formula is useful for the majority of gases being used in this field.
