The present paper describes a preparation of bovine anterior pituitary slices which is highly active in the incorporation of 3H-labeled amino acids into prolactin, growth hormone and mixed tissue proteins. Micro modifications of existing procedures were employed for the isolation of the labeled hormones in relatively purified state. These radioactive proteins were indistinguishable from reference hormone standards by chromatographic procedures, gel electrophoresis, amino acid composition, immunological tests, and by C- and N-terminal analysis.
