Fluctuations and localization in one dimension

Abstract

Examines the nature of the zero energy state in a one-dimensional system with nearest neighbour off-diagonal disorder. It is found that, although the usual definition of the localization length diverges at this energy, the state is nevertheless localized due to fluctuations.
