Intraperitoneal polypropylene mesh repair of incisional hernia is not associated with enterocutaneous fistula

Abstract

Enterocutaneous fistula formation appears to be very rare after incisional hernia repair with polypropylene mesh, regardless of intraperitoneal placement, omental coverage or closing of the peritoneum.
