The solubilities and diffusion coefficients of H2 in liquid Li contained in cylinders of Nb and Nb/1%Zr were determined in the temperature range 625–905°C and pressure range 13–1333 Pa. Simultaneous radial and axial diffusion into a finite solid cylinder adequately described the transport of H2 into liquid Li. The diffusion coefficient was expressed by D (cm2/sec) =13±1 exp(−2.5±0.2×104/RT).
