Ovariectomy-Induced Bone Loss Varies Among Inbred Strains of Mice

Abstract

We found that the skeletal response to OVX varies in a site- and compartment-specific fashion among inbred mouse strains, providing support for the hypothesis that bone loss during and after the menopause is partly genetically regulated.
